At your first visit to our office, please say hi to our receptionists Kayla and Joanna as they welcome you. Please have your patient information form ready and completed so we can begin your visit without delay. Dr. Steckel will meet with you and complete a thorough examination to determine if orthodontic treatment is appropriate for you at this time. Complete diagnostic records and X-rays are an important source of information to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Consultation

Every patient's treatment plan is individualized by Dr. Steckel. Our practice offers state-of the-art technology including digital xrays and photography. Your consultation includes a review of all options available and the appropriate timing for your orthodontic treatment. Detailed information on the fee will also be presented.

Beginning Treatment and Beyond

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes about 90 minutes. You'll then see us at regular intervals 6 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. With the recent advances in treatment options Dr. Steckel has incorporated, our patients are now seen every 6-8 weeks rather than every 4 weeks, as before. Our regular office hours are Mondays, by appointment, and Tuesday-Thursday. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time, AND this is a frequent compliment we receive. We are proud of it! If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. Each step in your orthodontic plan is important so please attend appointments as scheduled! No walk-ins please.

Payment & Office Policies

Cost

The cost of treatment depends on the complexity of the patient's case and the duration of treatment planned. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment option. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

Fees

In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, Discover Card and MASTERCARD.
  • In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance

Our office will partner with you to help you claim your orthodontic benefits, and help in any way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions that may arise. After receiving your insurance information, we will prepare and ask you to review your orthodontic claims prior to submission.
